The annual Queen of the Peak women’s surf contest, created by Surf Sister and Shelter Restaurant is being held this weekend.
Thanks to the generous support of sponsors Queen of the Peak 2016 has grown into a three-day event.
Created to showcase and celebrate the amazing female surf talent present on Canada’s west coast, contest organisers focus their efforts on designing the contest to be ‘female-friendly’ with free child care and dog sitting services for competitors and even has a massage tent that is complimentary for competitors.
Competitors vie for cash and prizes in longboard, shortboard and “Princess of the Peak” (16 years and under) divisions
Included in the entry fee for longboard, shortboard and Princess contestants is welcome dinner compliments of Shelter Restaurant on Thursday October 1st. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Tofino Hospital Foundation.
If you are in Canada and on the west coast, join in the celebration at Surf Sister in Tofino from 6:00pm onwards. You can register in person, watch contest hightlights on the big screen and enjoy some libations provided by Shelter and Tofino Brew Co.
